HP161 Truck stops working after trying to steer and turns off by itself.

Ive had this car for a few years and after a few months of use something happened. I once took it out after some rain and accidentally went over some very small puddles, thinking it was at least water resistant. About a week later I tried to use it again and the motor works good, it goes forwards and backwards but as soon as I try to steer it powers off by itself. The steering also rarely works/ it has delay and its slow.
