Controller not connecting to rc truck

I got a new hm 161 on dec 27, 2024. It worked initiallly, but the lights went off on the truck as I was driving it. Now the lights flash on the controlller when i turn it on. But when i power on the truck, the lights flash on the truck flash only until i let go of the power button. Then the lights stop.
I watched your video about this topic, showing to disconnect the the steering servo and see if it worked. When I did this, the truck worked, leading me to think it needed a new steering servo. I ordered another servo, but the same issue is happening when I connect the new servo.
I'm very frustrated with this new truck. I don't want to continue to buy new steering servos for $10 if this is not the problem. Please help.
